Jill Perkins and Jan Morley met 30 years ago when they were both studying for a graphics degree at the former Hornsey College of Art.

After graduating they travelled to Sri Lanka where they designed wooden toys for a Sri Lankan factory called Magpek.

Perkins & Morley was born!

They worked for 2 years out there producing toy designs for Pier 1, VBI Imports and other companies helping Magpek to win the government award for exports.

For quite a few years the Pier 1 Christmas and Easter gift ranges were designed by Perkins & Morley – if there’s one thing they do know, it’s how to make an Easter bunny look interesting in 20 different ways!

A few years later Jill & Jan branched out into tableware design which they have been doing for the last 15 years as well as designing giftware.

They have produced thousands of designs which are mainly sold in America to the likes of Macy’s, Bloomingdales and other large retailers. They have had great success in the UK and their designs have been in BHS, House of Fraser and Next. The vintage cheese label range for BIA and DRH Collection is currently in John Lewis and Heals. The Camembert baker by DRH Collection scooped gold in the Housewares Product of the Year - tableware category.

In 2010 Jill and Jan began designing a range of greetings cards under the name J2 Studio which are printed in Devon and are distributed and sold by them to many shops in the UK.

They are proving a hit with customers, their Collective Nouns range is a best seller and is now on mugs, coasters and placemats.

Their Say it with Words range is also very popular and can now be found on Scribbler.com.

Jill & Jan have a love of nature and a quirky sense of humour which they bring to their designs. They are very committed to being eco friendly using recycled card, envelopes and fully biodegradable bags and as the cards are printed in Devon they have a very small carbon footprint.

We have had the pleasure of working with Perkins and Morley for the last six years. They have this amazing ability of producing designs that are in demand from New Zealand to Canada, and with which we have had much success over the years. One part of their formula for success is to create a pattern that is semi-timeless, and so one can spend time investing in the design, knowing that sales will follow for years to come.
